If you look VERY carefully in the picture below, you will see, just above the brightest cloud, a swarm of bees.
The shared firewall between our history center and the next building has had a hive of bees in it for years. I never noticed them until the upstairs tenant (who is extremely allergic to bees) pointed them out to me. There seemed to be two our three openings between bricks.
But a few days ago the city got after the owner. And this swarm was visited by the exterminator just before I took this picture.
The last few days the sidewalk has been littered with bees. Today only a few were buzzing above.
Farewell bees.
I wonder how much honey is in the walls?
