Knitting On

So with the October Mystery sweater finished, I picked up the needles again.

The Black Cotton Cardi is back in the primary knitting bag. But I took time out to knit another Calorimetry to go with my new coat. Using different yarn from my stash, and smaller needles it fits much better than the first one.

And with that done I started on a Christmas present with mostly stash yarn.

The multi-colored was left over from the sweater for Oldest Son's Girl Friend's Daughter. The hat will be for her too. Then....I have plans for doll accessories. And maybe a little something for her mother.

That black sweater may be in the knitting bag, but it may not see much action for a while.

Time to Enjoy

The ends have been woven in and sniped off. So Gertrude was enlisted for another try on. Sweater number 9 is done.

The verdict? I love it! Warm and cozy. I do love Lambs Pride.

Now I have to wear it someplace where I can get some pictures with me wearing it. I am glad I signed up for the October Mystery KAL. Even if it did nearly take two months.

Now to cast on with some purple yarn for another Calorimentry ear warmer at a tighter gauge.

The Home Stretch

I have been so busy knitting that I even missed blogging on my blogiversary yesterday. I have been plugging away on this little venue since 2007. On my way now to year seven.

But as I said I have been knitting.

Buttons are on. Ends need to be woven in yet and I need to take some vanity shots of the sweater. And I can call it done. (Number 9.)

My mind is already starting to turn to my next project. Oh, I do plan on returning to the black cotton cardi but I want some accessories first. I am thinking some fingerless mitts and another ear warmer to go with my heavy winter coat. It's going to be cold next week.

By the way.....small dog NOT included for scale. She would be lost under the sweater.

Still Here, Still Knitting

I am still around. And have been busy with knitting and life. And to think, I briefly (very briefly) thought about posting daily, like I did last year. At least I knew enough to not try that.

I will try to catch up this weekend but, in the mean time, here is a glimpse of Gertrude with my October Mystery sweater. I have since started the collar.

The collar is about six inches of ribbing, a big fold over collar that won't be too close to the neck. The button bands on the front will add width. I have plenty of yarn to make them wide, if I want. When I tried it on, it looked like a better fit than on Gertrude. I may have lost a couple more pounds since she was "born."

And here is the back. I love the cable.
