Typically Michigan

Besides lots of knitting on my new sweater, and yes I still have to sew up the green sweater,

 it has been an exciting week here weather-wise.

 

We went from lots of glorious snow.......

 

to warm weather and rain.  (That is our hayfield folks! And just a small portion of the water in it.)

And now back to snow.  I love the snow, even the cold temperatures. 
Only downside, our garage door opener is frozen.  I have to open and close it by hand till the next thaw.

Onward, the Year of Sweaters

As you can see below, swatching for sweater number 2 has begun.  The reason is that pile of knitting draped over Lizzie in the second photo.
The entire Green Romney Rib Waist sweater is off the needles!
And even more surprising is that out of my 2 pounds of wool, I have three and a half skeins of precious handspun left!
Oh, the possibilities! 
But before I can model it, the sweater needs a bath and block.  But my needles can start to stray to the next project.

Finally Winter

Cold days.  Colder nights.  And I am loving it.  It's about time too.
With winter's encouragement, the Green Romney sweater is growing too.  The second sleeve is nearly ready for shaping the sleeve cap.  Then sewing together after perhaps (probably) a bath and blocking.
I can see swatching ahead this weekend.  I just need to decide: top down, or bottom up.

Remember Me?

Yes, I guess it had been a while since I posted here.  What can I plea as my excuse?
I was sick for a week.  Not flu thank goodness, or the strep that is also making its rounds.  Just an old-fashioned head and chest cold; which my boss shared with me, and I shared with the family.
Then there have been recurring bouts of sadness as I watch the country go to stack and ruin.  Sigh.
But the knitting has continued well.  I am hopeful of finishing the Green Romney Rib Waist Cardigan by the end of the month.  If not ready to wear, at least it will be off the needles.  I plan on finishing the first sleeve by Monday.  That only leaves the second sleeve and sewing up.
I better dig out my books on finishing and sewing.
I have even finished winding four skeins for my next sweater.

Growing a Sweater

My Green Romney Rib Waist Cardigan is growing by leaps and bounds.  At least it does when I actually knit and don't spend all day, or all evening reading my Nook, or playing games on my iPad.
As you can see below, the back is going well.  There is only about 4 inches before the shoulder shaping starts.  I could even start one of the front pieces tomorrow.
